Paul Klein, Billy Healy and Captain Lowery with Pauls Fifty Pounder
I do not even remember how many 48 plus pound fish have come over the sides of the Anna Lynn and just couldn't get over the hump to break 50 pounds. Today that has all changed and the 50 Mojo has been broken. I had James Klein and crew for our 40th trip of 2008 and when we walked up the dock to the scales we set her on 50 and it was pegged. The class of fish today was awesome we brought in two Virginia Citations and had a huge catch today. The second citation weghed in at 41.5 lbs caught by William Richard. These guys did a heck of a job on these big boys today. Thanks Again Guys for breaking 50 lb curse. Now that is out the way we will be looking for more 50 pounders between now and March 9th check the calendar and get in on this bite.
For the Anna Lynn's 39th trip of the year we had Dean and Kevin Bareford and crew back on board and the boys put the bass on the deck in record time. With the weather conditions today these guys really had to tighten their belts and hang on. I got to hand it to this crew they went to work and got it done. The fish were coming in so fast that no one could keep up. Once again the largest was right at 35 lbs with average size jumping back up there in the mid twenties today. We had multiple hook ups from the time we dropped the lines until we picked them up. Check the calendar now the days are filling in fast!

Today we had Tyrese Holmes and his crew aboard the Anna Lynn for the 38th trip of 2008and it was another morning of great fishing just a short cruise from the inlet. We caught doubles on most rods for over 30 minutes and came to back to the Virginia Beach Fishing Center with another nice limit to 36lbs. These bass were extremely hungry today and it was all Billy and I could do to keep the lines in the water. Check the calendar as there a few days left!
Time to get caught up on Virginia Beach Striper Action. Since my last report we have run trips 26 thru 36 of 2008 with much success during this run we have limited 8 times and had good catches for the day on the other two. All pictures are now posted on the 2008 Rockfish Album. We saw several days of picking at the fish to catch our limits and several days of wide open action. I have decided to keep the Anna Lynn here at Va Beach until March the 9th and have now opened up the March Calendar thru the 9th. The water temperatures are still in mid to upper forties and the fishing should be good thru the season at the end of March. There are five days left in Feb. and the dates in March check the calendar now.
