New Fishing Reports
July 5 -12

The fishing Offshore Va Beach is starting to take off with the Bluefins providing action almost daily along with the King Macs and Dolphin. It looks to be the begining of a Yellow-Fin bite as well as some flags flying for marlin each day. The pictures with this report are of my Brother with a 51 inch Blue -Fin and my wife with her 56 inch 97 lb Blue- Fin. The inshore bite also continues to be strong with Spade Fish, Flounder and Sharks Leading the way. Also wanted to say Congratulations to Captain Mike Standing and crew of Waterman Restaurant and Sportfishing for taking first place in the 2008 Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament.

VA Beach Summer 2008

We have fished 6 days the last two weeks and have run 8 Spade trips so far with mixed results. While catching fish each trip we have found them to be more picky and hanging closer to the structure this year. The water is extremely clear and it seems the fish are leader shy. The Big News is the Blue Fin Tuna Bite each boat that goes offshore are bringing in there Over and Under Blue Fins (one between 27 and 47 and one between 47 and 73) with multiple releases and a few Dolphin and Kings mixed in. The Anna Lynn will be going offshore this Wednesday the 2nd of July for the first time this year and can not wait to get in on this awesome fishery. The two pictures are from two of our best Spade trips. Call now 804 445 5155 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Stacey,Anna, Chloe and I fished some spots on the Rappahannock that I had not fished in years and had a nice catch in a couple of hours. Anna's croaker was big enough for a Virginia State citation 3lbs 4 ozs and was just over 19 inches!

Not as many Anglers showed up for the Walk on trip on Friday as we

would have liked but  the fish did. These anglers hauled in a nice catch

with fish up to 38 pounds and over 45 inches long! We also had a trip on

Monday and the fishing was even better with 2 or 3 on at the same time

and steady action on fish to 30 pounds. I should have pictures from

Mondays trip soon so check back. Just another week or two to catch

your Spring Trophy.
