The above picture is the Anna Lynn Fishing Team a Mile from Rudee during day Two of the Mid Atlantic Rockfish Shoot-Out.  I want to say thank you to my Fishing Team Ed Bowis, Billy Healy, Troy Allen, Jason Garner and my Father Inlaw Mike Wirt. We have fished the same team for 4 Tournaments this year and these guys make it happen. On the first day we boated 40 plus 30 pound Stripers in less than a hour. It takes a real team effort to do that!

This year we fished way south and caught loads of Big Fish and took Third Place with a three fish weight of 127.55 lbs. The Gannet and Rodbender finished First and Second  and all the big fish came from the south. The top six boats were all fishing with in several miles of each other and working together for the most part. Mike Standing, Ginny Cohen and the MARS crew once again ran a Great Tournament.

I have been pretty slack on the reports but my place of residence does not have the wireless connection like last years. The fishing is great right now we have to work each day whether fishing to the North or South but it has been really picking up for the last several weeks. Look forwrd to seeing you all who have trips booked in Jan. and Feb. dates are now open for anyone looking for a Charter.

I have been busy fishing almost everyday and getting straight with the winter move to the beach. We are catching fish every trip with daily weight of 25 plus up to 48.5 pounds. It sounds like there are alot of fish still as far up as New York that should be filtering down so

The dates open in VA Beach are Dec. 7th- 10th,16th,22nd,23rd,and 31st.( The New Years Eve Trip would be a great trip to make everyone Happy. Bring down wives or girl friends and despite whether they want to fish or not VA Beach New Years Eve is a good time. You get to fish and take out your better half and that way everyone is Happy) Also open is Jan. 2nd and 27th. Call or E-mail today! These fish are early and those early days in December should be  the begining of a wide open VA Beach Winter Season!!

June 28th and 29th

This past week we ran a Spade Trip and an Offshore Trip with some old

Friends and some new faces aboard the Anna Lynn. On the 29th we ran out

to a wreck off of VA Beach for Spade Fish and we were greeted by swarms

of Jelly fish with hundreds of Spades feeding amongst the Jellys. I knew as

soon as I saw them we were in for along day. We would float 6 baits thru the

fish to only get several bites but Tony Opperman's crew stuck it out and

brought over 20 Spades to over 8 Pounds to the boat. It was great fishing

with everyone again and meeting  some new anglers. See you all this

winter!

The next day we went Offshore with a group from Tappahannock and had a

great day of action boating 8 Yellowfins from 40 to over 60 pounds, several

Mahi and getting a HUGE Wahoo to within a foot or so of the Gaff.  It broke

the leader just out of reach of the Gaff man. We had several times of getting

multiple bites at once which kept everyone on their toes. Thanks Again

Guys  and Gal!  The Anna Lynn will be running a Spade Fish trip this

Wednesday and will then Gather the Anna Lynn Fishing Team to fish the VA

Beach Tuna Tournament.
