On Wednesday July 18th Marc Rainey and his family booked the Anna Lynn for a half day inshore trip. We started the day fishing inside the rocks at Rudee for bait fish and caught about 4 dozen Spot, Croakers and other various species to use for our shark bait. We headed off of the beach about four miles and put our chum bag over and after about 20 minutes it was on. We had steady action over the next 3 hours catching and releasing over 20 sharks up to about 6 feet and one under size Cobia that hit a live croaker right beside the boat.
This is a great half day trip with plenty of action and kids love it. We have a few dates left for some inshore fishing before the Anna Lynn heads back to Reedville in September. The offshore fishing has been spotting the last week or so but lots of Tunas and Billfish being seen. We expect this to really take of here anyday. Here are a few more pictures of the Rainey families shark adventure!
Taking the family out on the Anna Lynn for shark fishing was a great idea by the captain. It was real exciting to pull up the first one and it just got better as we caught more. The captain showed his skills as we caught about 20 sharks and another 20 or so skates while two other boats right around us were not as successful. The captain and mate did all the hard work and let us enjoy reeling them in and taking pictures. Thanks for the experience guys and we'll be back again. The Rainey Family.
