Tunas and Billfish

Image  On Tuesday July 24th the Anna Lynn ran offshore on a fun trip. Some of you reading this report were "no shows" and Terry Carson thanks you! After a nice catch of 50 plus pound Tuna we broke off a Big Blue Marlin that chafed the line on one of our tuna rigs. As the line gave up the fish partly showed himself and he was huge.

After Billy re-rigged  a new bait on the long rigger a White comes by and crashes both long riggers.

Terry begins the fight with the White and after a short battle Billy touches the leader and Terry gets his first Marlin release citation. So we ended up going 4 for 5 on the big Yellowfins, 0 for 1 on the Blue and 1 for 1 on the  White not a bad day for one angler, the Captain and the mate.

Did I mention that Billy got to wind a Tuna to the boat this trip ? He said it was his first one in 5 or 6 years and his biggest so far. Notice the tongue waggle doesn't that look a little like Jordan before a dunk? In the end the fat Tuna got dunked in the box with Terry making a good gaff shot.
