How quickly things can change offshore. The boats went from nothing to some nice catches overnight. It started the end of last week and now the summer bite is here. On Sunday the boat Episode caught what looks to be a New Virginia State Record Blue-fin Tuna that weighed 573 lbs! Click on the following pictures for a better view.
The fishing is awesome with large Yellow-fin, Mahi Mahi, Bluefin and Big Eye Tuna all being caught by Virginia Beach boats. We had our first offshore trip yesterday and had a nice catch of 4 Yellow-fins over 50 pounds! While fighting one of the Yellow-fins we had a Big Eye roll on the Speader Bar before engulfing the green machine and taking it with him. Another boat out of the Fishing Center Waverunner was beside us and hooked two Big Eyes with in our minutes of our encounter. The first two picture are of the 573 pound Bluefin Tuna and the picture of Billy leaning over is of the loinless 241 pound Big Eye the Waverunner landed. The other pictures are of our yellowfin. This is just the start and the Anna Lynn will be fishing at least through August reserve your offshore trip today.
I fish with Captain Lowery every year and he always seems to find the fish. Anyone looking to have a great day of fishing with friends or family i would highly recommend fishing on the Anna Lynn.

It was good to see you Wadester. Try not and make it a year in between this year. I know you need some Rock pullage this winter to get in Tuna shape for next summer. See you at T-roys big day if not before.
