Fishing leading up to this big storm brewing off the coast will certainly shake things up and we expect the fish to get closer. The last few trips have found the Anna Lynn way up the coast and fighting off the big blues all day. The fish have been mixed up with nice rockfish and blues in the same schools. We expect the storm to shake things up and move the majority of the blues off the coast and push the rockfish closer to VA Beach. The next few weeks should be interesting with the fishing improving with each trip. The picture with this report is from a few days ago when Stacey, Anna and Chloe joined some family members on the Anna Lynn for a fun day of fishing.
The guys from Tappahannock had a good day on the water with fish to 28 lbs. We caught fish in the bay and ocean today and it is getting better each day. I expect the normal Va Beach wide open fishing to start anyday from what I saw today.Check the online calendar for open dates.
The fishing is finally starting to heat up down here at the beach. The Anna Lynn is now catching limits each day as the fishing gets better daily. The fish are here and the Anna Lynn now has Dec. 10th- 12th open and check the online calendar for dates in 2008. Call me at 804 445 5155 to book your trip today. Its time to catch your Holiday Striper!!
Fishing out of Reedville right now is producing some great Light Tackle fishing with pretty much non stop action. Limits of Stripers and buckets of Blues are the normal thing right now. We will be enjoying this action until at least the middle of Nov. so book a trip now for an action packed day on the bay.
Mike Felts,13 from Chesterfield caught this 74 lb Citation Yellow-fin while fishing with his Grand Pa Mike Wirt. The two Mikes also brought two Wahoos to the boat weighing 27 and 29 lbs. We were fishing East of the Cigar out to 100 Fathoms in less than ideal conditions. They joined the party the next day in another choppy day and helped go 3 for 4 on Wahoos. The plan the second day was to start at the Weather Buoy and look for the Wahoos and then troll offshore for Tunas and the plan almost worked. We started with Wahoo bites right away going 2 for 3 and seeing several others as we trolled East in 52 fathoms the Two-Tones came up and the Yellow-Fin crashed the transom and a Short rigger, Two Flat Lines and a Spreader Bar all got hit with only the Bar coming tight but only for a few seconds. Everything had been hit short! We continued on looking for the Tunas but only managed another Wahoo at the 100 and a Bonita around the 10 Fathom Hump. All in All it was a good couple days that were a little Choppy but the fishing was decent. As things are cooling off we expect the Tuna bite to take off. Book your trip now for a great day of Tuna Fishing in September or Early October.
